Cambridge Road, Syrah, Martinborough, 2013

[PRE-RELEASE] 2013, Cambridge Road, Syrah, Martinborough, NZ: The diam pops, mimicking the embedded and romantic notions of cork whenever it’s associated with wine. Somewhere, an amp is switched on, a D-tuned guitar is plugged in, and the strings are strummed to sound out a heavy Dm chord. The wine pours inky black into the glass, emitting aromas of horses trampling over blackberry’s, violets and earth… Sadly, this particular wine had suffered at the hands of the unruly, non-spore forming genus of yeast, Brettanomyces. A thorough search reveals faint remnants of black and blue fruits, florals and herbs, sappy textures but all, sadly, crushed under the galloping hooves of Brett… Alc% NA, $NA
